Policy & Procedure
When you are ready to Consign:
All clothing must be freshly laundered, as wrinkle free as possible and brought in on hangers.
Only 25 clothing items or less per appointment.
Please make a drop-off appointment by calling, email or using the contact us form below.
Bring in your clothing items at your designated appointment time. Allow at least 20 minutes for your appointment.
We will enter you into our system and/or update your Customer Profile, sign and review our Consignment Contract and answer any questions you have at that time! We will look through every item to ensure they are damage free, pass our quality & season check.
We may pass on your item(s) if we have an abundance of a similar style or do not think we have a market for the item. No hard feelings! A conscious effort is being made to ensure we have a good variety and selection.
We will NOT process and price the item during your appointment.
Please remember to take a deep breath and “Let It Go!” We will do our best to get the best price for your item. Consignee (you) will receive 40% and Consignor (Deep Closets) will receive 60% of the Item’s final sale price before sales tax. We reserve the right to apply additional discounts or promotions at our discretion.
We will consign your item(s) for 60 days. After 30 days, the item(s) will be marked down with a 25% discount. Any unsold items after 60 days, you will be notified by email to come pick up your items. Please allow 2 days for your items to be pulled. If you do not pick up your items within 7 business days of the email notice it will become property of Deep Closets and will be sold or donated. If you change your mind about consigning you item(s) there is a $3 per item processing fee.
Deep Closets is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items.
Any items left for donation that we are unable to sell will be distributed but not limited to Domestic Violence Survivors:
Women’s Center of Greater Lansing
MSU Safe place (Women and children shelter)
Maplewood City Rescue Mission
Hannah’s House (pregnant women shelter)
Payment for your Consignments:
Checks will be issued during the second week of every month, when your account has reached $25.00 or more. You will receive an email when it is ready to be picked up. A $3.00 fee will be charged if you would like your check mailed. There is a $5.00 fee for any check that needs to be reissued.
